Carole
I cannot honestly say how many years Carole has been hosting our little group for a week in Myrtle Beach . We have a great time together sewing on projects that we bring along, sharing ideas, fabric shopping, playing every game under the sun it seems and eating out or cooking and eating in. Lots of laughs and some late nights.
This year we had a special treat - we all went to a Quilts of Valor Presentation Ceremony. It was held at the Veteran's Cafe in Myrtle Beach. The Quilts of Valor Ceremony was very touching and each quilt is individually presented along with a case to store it in when not in use.
Seven men were welcomed home with a lovey patriotic quilt. It was an honor to witness the love and respect shown to these Veterans who have been touch by war. They served in Vietnam, Korea and one 95 years young gentleman served our country in World War II. This is a group picture taken after all the quilts were awarded. |
The gentleman on the far right received a quilt made by Carole. He is also a member of the same church that she attends.
This is a very poor picture of a lovely quilt that will be raffled as part of a fund raiser to be held in April at the Cafe. The proceeds go help defray the costs of batting and backing fabric for quits etc.
Our Carole is a quilter who now makes almost exclusively Quilts of Valor quilts.
Carole you rock!
