This April has brought us lots of sunny lovely days as well as some unexpected cold weather. I had to cover the porch planters for a couple of nights recently as temps were 28 - 30 degrees overnight. My azaleas are the late blooming variety so have really been enjoying them. This light lavender one is trying to grow up in the tree just outside my door.
It has been wonderful seeing friends and spending time with them again. Had a fun couple of days with Linda M and Linda V. Lots of catching up, good food and game times.
Started back sewing with C and S. It was back in March last year when last we met. So excited to have them and get inspired by their projects.
Family Easter Dinner and celebration on the porch and then a nice surprise visit from Logan, his Papa, and grandpa and grandma last Sunday.
I have my April tasks completed for my Color My World BOM. Next month we make a "roads" around the center compass and the outer edge. That should be interesting - just hope mine will fit.
This is another version of the Marco Polo quilt that I did as a class at Ladybug Quilt Shop this past week
This afternoon, while my soup was cooking, I made parts of several more blocks.
I decided to make some "Church Soup" on the porch this afternoon. I had browned the ground beef and sausage for it yesterday. It is such an easy recipe. The only prep work is chopping one onion and shredding a small head of cabbage. Everything else is frozen or canned vegetables and tomato juice.
I make it in the roasting pan because when I made a full recipe as I'd have to divide into 2 or 3 pots if I did it on the stove. Also I don't have to tend it as much.
Four hours later it's ready to eat or portion up for a later date.
Expecting John's sister and husband so this will be nice to have on hand for a lunch.
Looking forward to seeing them. Almost makes me think life is normal again!
