August Finishes - Little Snowballs

Finally finished this Panel Kit that I bought a couple of years ago.
Plan on giving it to my GGS on his second birthday.

I love the cute little Sweetwater print for the back.

The Bunkhouse Plain and Fancy quilt is 57 by 66" and I will donate it to Pine Tree  this fall.

Backing a red and tan paisley that I had on hand.

"Flywheel"  44 by 60"
Another donation quilt that I was glad to finish!

I even finished sewing bindings on a couple of Table Runners that have been laying on the shelf for more years than I can even remember.

The Fifty-four Forty quilt (64 by 72") is also ready to be donated for the VA Hospice Unit.

This is my new  - old project!
I have been making these 4,5 inch blocks on and off for a few years.
I initially started making them intending to use them as a border for a quilt I was making at the time.
I put them aside but made more now and then. I put them away while cleaning up the sewing room.
Found them again!
I started sewing them into 9' blocks, by colors, this week.
I'll have to see where this goes!

A good quilting week!
Lunch out with friends from Ladybug Quilt Shop Tuesday,
Regular sewing day with friends C and S on Thursday and
Undercover Bee tomorrow  - always fun!

Three Projects Ready to Quilt and One New Project

I finished this top in July 2021 - it is 90 by 99".
Made a backing for this and it is ready for quilting.
The 10th time I have used this pattern that I remember.
I've always called it Exquisite Star.

I had finished this and added borders to make it 57 by 66".
I called it Bunkhouse Plain and Fancy.  Also made the backing for it.

Another small quilt that I started as a spur of the moment idea.  To see if I would like it etc.
I ran out of the background fabric and it waited for a few months until I found more of it.
Not thrilled with it but will quilt it for a donation quilt.

It doesn't look very inviting in these photos either.
I started it in December 2021 - it is 44 by 60".
Calling it Flywheel, also made a back for this .

This pattern is called Logs and Bricks and is published in Scrap-Basket Knockouts by Kim Brackett.
So I pre-ordered the book that was published in July.
I saw the preview for the book and loved this pattern!

I had rather figured out the pattern but I liked the other quilts in the book too.
I made a few blocks and luckily it was the same as in the book.

It is lots of cutting and lots of small pieces.

This where I ended today but I have more blocks in various stages.
It's a log cabin type of block.  So it works best for me to sew them that way.

June Projects Part 2

So glad to have this finished (broke a needle when I started and messed up the timing on the machine).

66 x 80"

Again I used the leftover blocks on the back of the quilt.

Next I loaded a top I called Sling Blade(named by my daughter, Shelly.  I think it is also called Buzz Saw.

I guess because of all the layers of batiks in some of the points and seams, my machine kept stopping and giving error messages.  So that was so annoying,  I basted the quilt in several rows and took it off.  I am going to try and quilt in on my Janome. It has been a long, long time since I have quilted on a DSM so that should be an experience.

Next up was  Birmingham Inspired. I was a little nervous when I started but this one was good to good from start to finish.    First time I have done a meander in I don't know when!

This is 60 by 72".  I love the pattern and colors of this quilt!

Another New Project

- two oopsies already!

A friend shared some of her pieces from men's shirts recently.
So I dug out my shirt stash and --------
