July 2020 - Bindings

Most of my sewing time in July consisted of finishing, labeling, and bindings.

Framed Cats - finished, washed and ready to donate.

Patriotic Beads - finished, washed and ready to donate.

Bordered Squares - washed and ready to donate

Spikey Stars - washed and ready for donation.
I don't as a rule wash donation quilts before I donate them but given the worry of Covid-19,
perhaps a recipient will feel safer accepting them if they are washed.

This is a quilt that I had finished, except for the label and  binding.
It looks like Thorny Pinwheels.  75 x 90".
Now it is officially finished.

I did make this  patriotic top this week and have another one almost done.
Did a little inventory and I found nine panels - no excuse for me not to finished a few.
We'll see how it goes.
It has been so hot in this neck of the woods that staying in the cool and sewing or reading sounds good to me!

Patriotic String of Beads

Using a patriotic fabric I already had for the setting triangles.

A little to big for the design wall.
Trying to determine how many more blocks I need to make.

Hurrah - another donation top made. It measures about 66 x 77"
Now for a backing.

A little R&R at Shelly's - Cupcakes with sprinkles makes a party!
The guys are out on the patio about to get sprinkled on soon  - lots of rain pending.

Some more orphan blocks - will have to make some more - again no name of this block.

Lots of hot rainy days - like the tropics - the grass is growing like weeds - which a lot of it is anyway.
But it looks good after mowing so I'm good with it.
Thanks Mario!

Good time to be inside sewing!

Quarantine Mosaic Circles

Finished sewing the center of the Circles Quilt.
The porch floor was the just cleaned so great place to lay it out.
The center is 80 x 80".
Trying out some border possibilities ---

No decisions - not super thrilled with any of these.

Started another patriotic quilt for donation later on.  Had quite a few four patches left from something or another --who knows.  Will see how this goes figuring it out as I go along.  Oops, I see one renegade already.  I'm sure this pattern has a name but I'm going to call it Patriotic String of Beads.

Found the pattern for this quilt.
It is called All Together Now
and was published in A Fons and Porter Scrap Quilt Publication in Fall 2013.
