Little H Quilt

This is a messy looking top - I didn't press it very well.  But I did add borders and I just need to cut 5 more squares to make the border. It is now 85 by 91".

And I used all those little O mistake blocks along  with the leftover H's on the back.

My friend Donna - she always sets the tables for us.
Monday was Table of Grace at WUMC.  We made 2 roasting pans full of vegetable and beef soup along with grilled cheese sandwiches.  I made a Red Velvet Cake ( the first one I have made in years), Margie made an Orange Cake and we made a batch of Brown Sugar Brownie Bars at church.  We had a good crowd.

OH - OH

The other day when C & S were here I was trying to make some of the 83 more 3.5" H blocks for the Little H quilt that I stared in November 2018.
My perennial sewing plan is to finish one old project before I start something  new. That usually lasts until the end of January.

Well when I pressed what I had sewn - I had a little surprise! I now have about 50 "O" blocks.
Two days later  - I was ready to assemble the rest of the blocks for the quilt.

Get out the plan and get sewing.

After a marathon sewing day yesterday  (I stayed home all day)

Poor lighting at 8PM

I think I will add a simple unequal border as the quilt is 81 by 81".  To large for a lap or sofa quilt but too small for a queen bed. I have lots of 5"neutral squares from the center blocks so I may use them.

Today is Bee at ZUMC - hoping for lots of sewing inspiration and looking forward to seeing friends.
Glad to be back at ZUMC - only 4 miles and great place to meet.

Sewing in The Dining Room

It is always so much fun when friends come to sew and share ideas.
Yesterday C & S came for a sew day so this morning I decided to finish the pieced portion of my quilt back before I put away the machine and iron etc.

I'll sew the rest in the sewing room.  I'm always inspired when I see what C & S are sewing.
I really want to start something new but I am determined to finish one of my old projects first.

This is the quilt top that I am making the backing for  - it is 99 x 99".  The back will be 108 by 108" which is a little over size but rather that than too small.

Now to clean the dining room - family fun and games tomorrow.
