Flag Day and Quilting

What a beautiful, breezy, sunshiny day here in NC.
And cool too! What more could you ask for?

I was inspired to quilt this top that has been lingering for quite awhile.

Also  I trimmed this quilt I finished quilting yesterday,
I  loaded a child-size donation quilt after I finished so I am kinda on a roll.
Hope to get the a/c installed in the little house soon and continue getting my backlog of tops quilted.
Now for a little porch time!

Happy Flag Day Y'all!

Paint Box Finished

Was out on the porch when I finally finished sewing down the binding - so just tossed on the recently cleaned floor for a quick picture.   It is 72 by 81 so not a huge quilt by any means.

It was such an easy quilt - I've thought of making it again with solids - we'll see - I have so many things started it certainly won't be right away.

I used this floral with a black background to back it.  And I did sew a label on it too.
So I started it in 2016 - it's about time!

Late May garden - doesn't look too impressive  - some of my gardening friends are eating fresh vegetables - but this isn't really my garden.  I just planted Cucumbers, Beet seeds (recently - I was looking for some zinnia seeds and beet seeds were 20 cents at the Walmart.) and Sunflowers!
It has really grown a lot since I took this picture.  Paul came over on the weekend and tinkered with the watering system - we had a huge rain and his water container is full!

Memorial Day I was invited to a cookout with Paul and Tracey at Paul's nephew's home.
Tyler is in his early thirties and is very creative and loves all things outdoors.  Among other things, he built this planter on the back patio.  Even though it was HOT outside - we enjoyed the evening.

He lives just a half mile from a big shopping center, a four lane bypass around Raleigh and several subdivisions but this property is like an oasis  - so serene with fences, barns and cows grazing in the pasture out back.  Love the gate and the back fence.

So peaceful.
