More Bindings Finished and an Outing

A Plus Quilt
I like the way this small lap quilt turned out.
Got the idea at a quilt show in England in 2018.
Mine is about 58 by 68".

So surprised how much I like this quilt now that it is completely finished and labeled.
Love the light background too.
It is 85 by 91".

The back!
I call it Little H Circles.

One more to bind and I'll be caught up with the bindings.

Em and I went out for brunch at Meeple's Brew in Cary/Morrisville Saturday morning.

Fun place  - they have tons of board games that you can play for a long as you want for a small fee.
We played a couple of our favs - Ticket to Ride and Rummikub.
Of course they disinfect them after each use.

Labels and A Baby Shower

These two handsome lads that I celebrated with on Father's Day are soon to become Dads!

I love this cute little clothesline Kathy put up.
Celebrating Responsibly at our side of the family shower-
we had thought to have it on the porch but opted for AC instead!

The quilt I gave them is a Dresden Plate Quilt I made in anticipation of this occasion back in 2013/2014.  I made several but this is the first one to be gifted.

I don't think I would still have the skill to do all the quilting on my DSM now.

I had not made a label - so I had to undo the binding to sew it on after the shower
The renovations at their home are just getting  finished so they left all their gifts here for the time being so that worked out just fine!

Muchos Triángulos and Problem Trees

So I finally finished sewing down the binding on this quilt that has been about seven years in the making.  Started the top in 2013 and finished the top in 2015.

Had it quilted in May of this year by Carole G.

This is the back and I have even sewn on the label too!

These trees which have been shading the top of driveway have become a problem this year.
Since early spring,  almost every time we've had a storm a big limb would fall on the driveway.
After the rainstorm from Isaisis (sp)and two more fell ........

I also had the tree guys trim and limb up the other trees along the driveway.
And take down a tree on the other side of the front yard that died in solidarity,
or for some other unknown reason

Problem solved  - I hope.

Patriotic Quilt Tops 4,5 and 6 -2020

This is by far my oldest panel - I bought it long before I even thought of making Patriotic Donation Quilts.  If I remember right, I was going to cut this peel up and use the blocks  individually.  Started with an off center setting but not really crazy about how it looks and it is too small.

I bordered this panel to fit the 10 inch blocks that were leftover from another quilt.
I did have to make six more blocks.
Land of The Free I is 50 by 70".   I made binding from the dark blue fabric.

Someone gave me this panel.  It is the smallest of all I had.
I used some blocks that I already had for the corners and again made binding out of the dark blue.
Flying Geese Flag - It is 46 by 60".

Made three more star blocks and added more borders.

Olde Glory - It now measures 51 by 69".

I have used all the patriotic odds and ends - I think!
And now I am down to 5 panels and one quilt kit that also contains a panel.
Progress - now I need to make backings and bindings for them.
