November 2022

 November 2022

Pinkie - I designed this quilt from a picture I saw in a magazine and made the top in 2002?  Finally quilted it in early November but have yet to finish the binding. It's an odd size and I guess that's why I have never really been too crazy about it. One day.............

Crafting and getting ready for our church's annual cookie walk. We will be decorating the Fellowship Hall  so I am helping prep for this by making some( about 200) paper Magnolia Blossoms from coffee filters.
Not so bad - just make a few each day.

Took a Collage Class up at Lake Gaston,  Sherry's Sewing Center, with some friends and the Goldsboro Guild.  Wish I could say I have finished my collage but at least I got started on it.  It was a fun day and the Goldsboro gals did a great job planning the day. They also and made some terrific pieces!

It was a nice place to shop too.

My sewing for the month consisted of making two of these cute Nativity sets from panels.

A bit challenging at times but my friend, Sylvia, who makes a lot of handbags gave me some good tips that were very helpful. And I finished one in time to give it to my great grandson at Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Day was sunny and mild and we had a great day.

Cousin Carter drove down from Indiana and spent the weekend.

Logan napped through dinner and group pictures but arrived for dessert.

Late Fall Sewing and Thanksgiving

The  door into my sewing room.

Behind the door to my sewing room.
A  friend, who had never been in my sewing room, was fascinated by all the stuff hanging there.
And to be honest I was kind of embarrassed at the mess.  Anyway - later I looked through it and I found this.

One of the quilt tops  - hanging there!
I have absolutely no recollection of making it.
It is 81 x 90".  Maybe I thought I'd use it as a quilt back or something.
Anyway - we'll see.

Continuing on with my donation and comfort quilts.
This top is 60 by 72.

A very rainy day

lots of preparation

lots of cutters

Lots of mess to clean up!
Great way to spent a rainy way!

This is another small to that I finished.  I had made some of the blocks last year and sewed them together.

The blocks are seven inches and the top is 42 by 49"

 and ready to be quilted.

                                                               My Thanksgiving Day Crew

It was a beautiful day and we ate out on the porch and the deck.

As we were taking pictures, my son in law, Vince, got a text from someone of pictures of their Thanksgiving celebration.  None of us recognized anyone in the pictures but we replied and sent our pictures.  We had a few laughs and they congratulated the couple holding the baby for being responsible and wearing masks. In the end - we told them we were looking forward to seeing their Christmas pictures.

Funny what a transposed number can lead to - it was fun.

Thanksgiving and a New Project

The younger kiddies (actually they're all adults) hanging out and waiting for dinner.

The gals are making some apple cider punch.

Hmmm! Adding a little punch to the punch!

Finally everything is ready.  We ate, watched football, made some December plans and played games.   Daniel had to work so waited for him and had dessert.

A new scrappy project  - I am definitely tossing all my little scraps after this one!
